Chain maintenance

In the entire mechanical structure of a motorcycle, the chain plays a very important role—power transmission. Essentially, the chain's function is no less important than that of the engine, clutch, or brake calipers...
Currently, common chains on the market are classified as sealed chains and non-sealed chains: A sealed chain has an oil seal between the inner and outer plates, containing lubricating oil to lubricate the chain. Chains without this oil seal are called non-sealed chains.

Based on the above structure, if the chain is not maintained for a long time and lubrication is poor, greater frictional resistance will be generated during operation, resulting in some loss of engine power. Inconsistent operation over the long term may also lead to chain loosening or even detachment. Therefore, regular cleaning and lubrication maintenance of the chain is necessary!
The general maintenance cycle is 300-500 kilometers. Clean the chain with a special chain cleaner, then spray on chain lubricant to maintain the seal and elasticity of the oil seals. For long-distance rides, it is also recommended to carry chain maintenance equipment and clean and maintain the chain regularly.
