Regarding Containers:
External dimensions of 20 feet X 8 feet X 8 feet 6 inches, abbreviated as 20-foot container;
40 feet X 8 feet X 8 feet 6 inches, abbreviated as 40-foot container; and the increasingly common 40 feet X 8 feet X 9 feet 6 inches, abbreviated as 40-foot high cube container.
In freight forwarding: commonly seen are 20GP, 40GP, 40HQ, 45HQ.
20-foot container: Internal volume is 5.69 meters X 2.13 meters X 2.18 meters, with a general cargo gross weight of 17.5 tons and a volume of 24-26 cubic meters;
40-foot container: Internal volume is 11.8 meters X 2.13 meters X 2.18 meters, with a general cargo gross weight of 22 tons and a volume of 54 cubic meters;
40-foot high cube container: Internal volume is 11.8 meters X 2.13 meters X 2.72 meters, with a general cargo gross weight of 22 tons and a volume of 68 cubic meters;
45-foot high cube container: Internal volume is 13.58 meters X 2.34 meters X 2.71 meters, with a general cargo gross weight of 29 tons and a volume of 86 cubic meters;
Because there is some space between goods and between pallets, the actual occupied area of the goods needs to be considered.
Container Types:
1. Dry container DC/GP (DRY CONTAINER/GENERAL PURPOSE);
2. Refrigerated container 20'RF, 40'RF, 40'RH (REEFER CONTAINER), for goods requiring temperature control, such as fresh produce or goods requiring constant temperature.
3. Open top container OP (OPEN TOP), allowing for top loading, suitable for oversized machinery and other large cargo.
4. Flat rack container FR (FLAT RACK), designed for heavier cargo loaded from the top or sides.
5. Garment container HT (HANGER CONTAINER), for hanging clothes using ropes or bars, or both.

8. The type code for a half-height container is OD.

Regarding the Customs Declaration Process for Export by Trading Companies Process:
I. Export declaration companies must be registered and filed with the local customs and inspection and quarantine bureau, possessing import and export operating rights and inspection qualifications.
II. Documents Required for Export Declaration:
1. The exporter shall prepare all necessary customs documents and submit them to customs for declaration within 24 hours before loading after the goods arrive at the customs supervision area.
2. Essential documents: packing list, invoice, contract, verification form, customs declaration power of attorney, shipping company loading list, etc., one copy of each document.
3. Documents stipulated by the customs tariff. (Such as customs clearance certificate, export license, etc.)
4. If an export license is required, it must be provided for customs declaration.
III. Documents Required for Export Inspection:
1. The exporter should prepare the necessary documents three days before customs declaration and submit them to the inspection and quarantine bureau. Documents to be provided include: packing list, invoice, contract, inspection entrustment letter, factory inspection certificate, carton packing list, etc., one copy of each document.
2. For exports to the United States, Australia, Canada, the European Union, etc., where the outer packaging is made of wood, fumigation or heat treatment is required. Documents provided by the exporter include: packing list, invoice, contract, inspection entrustment letter. If the fumigated product is a wood product, a factory inspection certificate must also be provided.
3. For products undergoing fumigation or heat treatment, the exporter should transport the goods to the designated yard or port area for fumigation two days before customs declaration. (Fumigation takes 24 hours.)
IV. Formal export declaration to customs. If export taxes are payable, they should be paid promptly.
V. Customs on-site document review is completed. After the release of the cargo documents, the cargo owner should transport the goods to the customs supervision area for release within the time limit specified by customs. If inspection is required, the customs broker should contact customs promptly for cargo inspection. After inspection, the designated seal should be affixed by the shipping company. If no inspection is required, the goods should be released promptly, and the loading list should be sent to the port area for loading according to the closing time.
VI. Upon cargo export, the shipping company will transmit the export cargo manifest data to customs. After customs receives the data, the customs broker will obtain the tax refund verification slip from customs after customs data closing.
